History of the Dynamite Diamond Ring

 AEW Dynamite Diamond Ring

History:

The Dynamite Diamond Ring is an actual diamond ring that looks like the AEW World Championship in its design. Currently the ring has only been won by one man for 5 straight years and he is no other than Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF). MJF is the only man to have ever won the accomplishment, which AEW does yearly towards the end of the year.

In 2019, MFJ defeated "Hangman" Adam Page to win the prestigious ring on the November 27th episode of AEW Dynamite. In 2020, the Dynamite Diamond Ring match was determined by the last two standing in a Battle Royale would go on to face each other in a one-on-one match to determine the holder of the ring. On the December 2nd episode of AEW Dynamite, with the special theme of "Winter Is Coming", MJF and Orange Cassidy became the last two men standing in the Dynamite Diamond Ring Battle Royale, thus the next week on December 8th, MJF defeated Orange Cassidy to win for a second year in a row. In 2021, the same qualifying format was used with Dante Martin and MJF winning the qualifying battle royale and facing each other the following week on the December 15th episode of AEW Dynamite. This time it was MJF who walked away victorious, making it a third year in a row he won. In 2022, the format was changed a bit with MJF having won the previous 3 years Diamond Ring, this time MJF was "defending" the ring against the winner of a Battle Royale. On the December 7th episode of AEW Dynamite, Ricky Starks won the Battle Royale which guaranteed him not only a shot at winning the Dynamite Diamond Ring but MJF also made it a "winner's take all" match with him also defending the AEW World Championship against Starks. The match happened the following week on the December 14th episode of AEW Dynamite with MJF successfully defending the AEW World Championship and winning the Dynamite Diamond Ring for a fourth year in a row.

In 2023, during his rivalry with Bullet Club Gold (Jay White, Juice Robinson and The Gunns (Austin Gunn and Colten Gunn)), the reigning AEW World Champion MJF would end up facing off with Juice Robinson on October 25th, 2023 to win his 5th straight Dynamite Diamond Ring. This came one week after Juice Robinson won the Dynamite Dozen Battle Royale to get the shot at MJF. Although MJF was the AEW World
