AEW History:

Brody King made his All Elite Wrestling debut on the January 12th, 2022 episode of AEW Dynamite, where he quickly aligned himself with Malakai Black by attacking The Varsity Blonds (Brian Pillman, Jr. and Griff Garrison) and Penta El Zero Miedo to become the second member of Black's stable, The House of Black. At AEW's Revolution 2022 buy-in pre-show, the stable (joined by Buddy Matthews) would then win in a trios match against Death Triangle (PAC and Penta El Zero Miedo) and Erick Redbeard. A year later at AEW Revolution 2023, The House of Black defeated The Elite (The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) and Kenny Omega) to become the third trios team to have held the AEW World Trios Championship. After winning the titles, they successfully defended the titles against The Elite and The Jericho Appreciation Society's Chris Jericho, Daniel Garcia and Sammy Guevara on the March 15th episode of Dynamite. Since winning the titles, The House of Black have been having "Open House Matches" for the titles, defending the titles in what is basically an open challenge to any trios teams but with some added rules. Under Open House rules, there are 20-second count outs. Wrestlers do not have to break submission holds on rope breaks as they are not enforced. Disqualifications are strictly enforced unless otherwise stipulated. Since introducing this style of open challenges they have successfully defended the titles against the likes of Billy Gunn and The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens and Max Caster), AR Fox, Blake Christian and Metalik, and Bandido and Best Friends (Chuck Taylor and Trent Beretta).
